About the Honda CB600 range

A starting point for CB600 owners, with the full model designation retained on every repair example.

Honda Motorcycle Logo

The CB600 family includes the CB600F, known as the Hornet and, in North America, the Honda 599. Honda’s 2006 599 specifications identify the model as CB600F with a 599cc liquid-cooled inline-four engine. The complete designation is more useful than the displacement alone when selecting parts.

The catalogue records some engine-gasket applications as CB600 and fuel-system applications as CB600F or CB600F2. Those labels should be kept intact. This parent page helps you navigate the range; it does not broaden a CB600-labelled part to every suffix or model year.

Separate engine-gasket coverage from carburetor coverage

The selected engine gasket set lists CB600 1998–2002. The carburetor kit and bowl gasket list CB600F 1998–2006, while the featured rear master-cylinder kit lists CB600F 2004–2006. Select each component from its own application instead of using the longest range for the entire repair.

Know your Honda CB600 before choosing partsCB600 labels and repair ranges

CB600

1998–2002 engine-gasket entry

The featured engine gasket set uses the CB600 label and a 1998–2002 application.

Parts checkpoint: Confirm the engine model and required gasket contents.

CB600F

1998–2006 carburetor entries

The rebuild kit and bowl gasket explicitly list CB600F 1998–2006. They are carburetor components.

Parts checkpoint: Compare the fitted fuel system and package contents.

CB600F

2004–2006 rear-brake entry

The selected rear master-cylinder kit has a narrower 2004–2006 application.

Parts checkpoint: Keep rear master-cylinder parts separate from front and caliper repairs.

Identify your motorcycle before orderingHonda CB600 identification checklist

  1. Record the complete CB600 designation, year and market before entering the model filters.
  2. For engine gaskets, identify the fitted engine and the joints being opened.
  3. For carburetor, ignition and brake work, match the actual assembly and the specific application shown on the product.

Honda CB600 parts questions

Is the Honda 599 a CB600F?
Honda’s 2006 599 specifications identify the model as CB600F. Use the complete model and year when comparing parts, as the Hornet and 599 names alone do not establish every market-specific application.
Does a CB600 gasket listing automatically cover every CB600F?
No. The featured gasket set lists CB600 1998–2002. Confirm the exact engine application before applying that shortened label to a suffix model.
Why does the CB600F carburetor kit have more years than the rear master-cylinder kit?
They are different components. The selected carburetor kit lists CB600F 1998–2006, while the rear master-cylinder kit lists 2004–2006. Neither range determines the other part’s fitment.
Should I buy a bowl gasket or a carburetor rebuild kit for a CB600F fuel leak?
Identify where the fuel is escaping first. The bowl gasket seals the bowl-to-body joint. A rebuild kit may address additional service needs, but its contents must be checked against the fault and the fitted carburetor.
