Identify the CB750 Generation Before Selecting Parts
Early 1969–1978 CB750 motorcycles use the single-overhead-cam engine commonly called SOHC. Honda introduced the later double-overhead-cam CB750 platform for 1979. That change affected the engine, carburetion, ignition, exhaust, chassis and many service components, so a shared CB750 name does not establish interchangeability. The model suffix matters as much as the displacement. CB750K and CB750F applications exist in both major engine generations, while CB750A denotes the Hondamatic automatic-transmission model. CB750C identifies Custom models, CB750L identifies the 1979 Limited Edition, and CB750SC covers Nighthawk applications from more than one production period.
