About the Honda TRX250X
Two TRX250X generations: choose the early FourTrax or later SportClutch application.
The original FourTrax 250X used a 246 cc four-stroke engine. In 2009, the TRX250X name returned on Honda’s 229 cc SportClutch sport ATV, related to the earlier TRX250EX. This reused name makes the model year essential when selecting a carburetor kit or identifying chassis parts.
Keep the two carburetor applications separate
The early kit below lists 1987–1988 and 1991–1992. The later kit lists 2009–2012. These are exact product applications, including the gap in the early list; they do not define the complete production run. On a machine with a replacement engine or carburetor, compare the fitted unit’s markings and components before choosing a kit.

The sintered pads linked here cover the early X years only. Compare brake position, pad outline and retaining hardware instead of extending that listing to the later model.
Identify your vehicle before orderingIdentify the right TRX250X generation
- Confirm the model year from the frame identification and ownership records.
- Record engine markings separately if the engine has been changed.
- Identify the carburetor by its markings and compare the kit’s application and supplied pieces.
- For brake parts, note the position and compare the original pad shape. Do not choose from a model-name match alone.
