About the Honda XL80 family
A repair-order guide that separates the XL80S engine, fuel inlet and steering head.
An XL80 search often leads to products labeled XL80S. Keep the S suffix and the documented year with your parts list, then record the engine, carburetor and front-end identity separately if the bike has been rebuilt. The XL80S model guide holds the focused repair applications.
Organize a small Honda rebuild by assembly
The 1980–1985 XL80S gasket set, float needle and steering-bearing kit do three different jobs. Engine gaskets seal the joints you open; the float needle controls fuel entry with the seat and float; steering-head bearings support the fork stem in the frame. Keeping those jobs separate avoids confusing a wheel-bearing or fork-seal purchase with steering service.

XL80S, 1980–1985
Engine gasket set
Compare the gasket shapes and contents with the cylinder, cases or covers being opened. Check separately for any seals or O-rings absent from the contents list.
XL80S, 1980–1985
Carburetor float needle
The featured needle replaces reference 16155-883-005. Compare the carburetor identity and needle tip; inspect the seat and float before choosing the parts for a fuel-level repair.
XL80S, 1980–1985
Steering-head bearing kit
This kit services the frame head and fork stem. Check bearing seats, race style and supplied seals. Wheel bearings and fork oil seals are separate repair parts.
XL80S rear drum
Rear-shoe application includes 1980–1985
Match the rear hub, shoe dimensions and spring arrangement. Keep the wheel position with the order; the front drum requires its own confirmed listing.
Frame, engine and component checksIdentify your XL80 before ordering
Record the frame and engine markings, then compare the component being repaired. Include replacement-engine or chassis details if the motorcycle has been modified.
- Identify XL80S or another exact designation from the motorcycle, rather than choosing the nearest engine size.
- Record the engine marking before gasket or internal-engine work.
- Identify carburetor markings and compare the old float valve when repairing fuel-level problems.
- For drum brakes, establish front or rear position and compare the hub and shoe arrangement.
