About the Suzuki LT500R
Cooling-system sealing and front brake-hydraulic service for the LT500R ATV.
A coolant leak at the water pump and a front master-cylinder repair require different sealing parts. The LT500R examples below focus on those two assemblies, with 1987–1990 applications. Identify the fitted pump or brake control and compare the components before building the repair order.
Match the seal to its location
The water-pump mechanical seal controls coolant at the rotating pump shaft. The front master-cylinder kit services the hydraulic control for the front brake. Check the pump’s mating surfaces for the cooling repair, or the master-cylinder bore and piston details for the brake job.

Front brake hydraulics
The front master-cylinder kit replaces the internal piston and sealing components listed for the kit. It does not identify the caliper seals, brake pads or rear master cylinder.
Water-pump sealing
The mechanical seal works at the water-pump shaft. Inspect the shaft and mating surfaces and identify any separate oil seal or gasket required by the repair.
Identify your ATV before orderingLT500R identification & fitment checks
- Record the LT500R frame identification and model year, especially if the engine or front controls have been replaced.
- For the master-cylinder kit, compare bore size, piston length, seal arrangement and the original reference.
- For a coolant leak, identify the water-pump seal location and inspect the shaft and mating surfaces before ordering.
