About the Yamaha YZ60
Float, valve and bowl-gasket service for the YZ60, plus a separate fork-seal application.
A YZ60 carburetor repair can involve three distinct components: the float, the inlet needle and seat, and the bowl gasket. The float operates the valve that controls incoming fuel; the gasket seals the bowl joint. Identifying the worn or damaged piece makes the repair list more useful than ordering by a general carburetor description.
Organize the carburetor parts by their function
The featured float and pin, needle and seat, and bowl gasket each list YZ60 1981. They can be considered separately according to the inspection findings. The fork seals have a wider 1981–1983 application; that range belongs to the fork product alone.
Know your YZ60 before choosing partsYZ60 repair checkpoints
Use the checkpoints below to prepare the parts list for your repair.
Float assembly
Float buoyancy and fuel shutoff are different jobs
A float and pin support the fuel-level mechanism. The needle and seat control fuel entry. Inspect both rather than expecting one replacement to correct every overflowing-carburetor fault.
Bowl joint
A bowl gasket is not a rebuild kit
The selected 1981 gasket seals the float-bowl joint. It does not supply a float, valve, jets or other service pieces.
Forks
Keep the broader seal coverage in context
The fork seals list 1981–1983. Compare their dimensions and the actual fork assembly; this range does not expand the 1981 carburetor listings.
Identify your motorcycle before orderingYZ60 identification checklist
Record the motorcycle’s identification and check for replacement assemblies before choosing service parts.
- Confirm YZ60 and the model year from the frame identification and appropriate Yamaha model information.
- Read the carburetor body markings, then compare the float hinge, needle and seat with the original parts.
- Measure the existing fork seal and check for a replacement front end before using the 1981–1983 seal application.
