About the Honda CB1000
Custom and Super Four: one family name, different repair parts.
The CB1000 name crosses generations. The 1983 CB1000C belongs to Honda’s Custom line, while the CB1000 Super Four introduced in Japan in 1992 was developed around a liquid-cooled DOHC inline four. A shared CB1000 badge does not make their engine, suspension or brake components interchangeable.
Choose the generation, then the job
Restoring a 1983 Custom? Start with the CB1000C carburetor kit, fork seals and clutch plate links below. Servicing a later Super Four? The front master-cylinder kit has a separate 1994–1995 CB1000 application. A master-cylinder rebuild, fork reseal and clutch repair each need their own component match.

Parts checkpoint: Open the dedicated Custom collection when your bike is a CB1000C.
Later Super Four
A different generation
The later CB1000 front master-cylinder kit lists 1994–1995. Honda’s Super Four history establishes the different engine generation, not a blanket interchange with the Custom.
Parts checkpoint: Match the complete model, year and fitted hydraulic assembly.

Frame, engine and component checksIdentify your CB1000 before ordering
Record the frame and engine markings, then compare the component being repaired. Include replacement-engine or chassis details if the motorcycle has been modified.
- Read the complete frame model and any market-specific suffix rather than relying on a side-cover badge.
- Photograph the engine stamping if the engine’s origin is uncertain.
- For carburetor work, record the carburetor identification and compare the existing bowl and float-valve parts.
- For brakes or forks, note the fitted assembly’s markings and dimensions before matching repair components.
