About the Honda VF1100 V65 family

Honda’s V65 Magna and Sabre pair a liquid-cooled V4 with shaft drive and a hydraulic clutch. The Magna is the cruiser; the Sabre takes a more upright road-bike approach. Their different carburetors, exhaust and chassis equipment make the C or S designation a useful first step in a parts search.

Magna and Sabre: where to start

Use VF1100C V65 Magna parts for 1983–1986 applications and VF1100S V65 Sabre parts for 1984–1985. Some bowl gaskets and steel clutch plates list both. Hydraulic repair kits and fork components can have narrower coverage, so select those by the complete model and fitted assembly.

Which Honda VF1100 is the V65 Magna and which is the Sabre?
VF1100C is the V65 Magna, with 1983–1986 applications here. VF1100S is the V65 Sabre, with 1984–1985 applications. Choose the C or S collection first, then use the year coverage for the component you need.
Are V65 Magna and Sabre parts interchangeable?
Some individual parts list both models, including the bowl gasket and steel clutch plate linked here. Complete carburetor banks, forks and hydraulic assemblies need separate verification. Shared V65 naming does not establish their interchange.
Does a VF1100 clutch use a cable or a hydraulic release system?
The V65 Magna and Sabre use a hydraulic clutch release system. Internal steel and friction plates are separate from the hydraulic release components. Identify the assembly being repaired before choosing a clutch part.
