About the Suzuki LT230GE
Keep front and rear drum-brake parts separate when servicing the LT230GE.
Front and rear drum-brake service are distinct jobs on the LT230GE applications covered here. Label the removed shoes and measurements by position, and check the operating mechanism before fitting replacements. For fuel and clutch work, identify the carburetor and plate requirements separately; a shared LT230 name does not settle those choices.
Inspect front and rear brakes separately
Record the brake position before removing shoes, then inspect the drum, brake cam and operating linkage. The selected front and rear shoe sets are different products even though both list LT230GE 1985–1986. For fuel and clutch repairs, compare the carburetor markings and plate specifications independently of the brake applications.
Know your LT230GE before choosing partsLT230GE repair checkpoints
Use the checkpoints below to prepare the parts list for your repair.
Front drum brake
Use the front-shoe application
The selected front shoes list LT230GE 1985–1986. Confirm the drum and shoe dimensions and the number of brake assemblies being serviced.
Rear drum brake
A separate shoe set
The rear shoes have their own LT230GE 1985–1986 listing. Do not substitute LT230S or LT230E pad listings for this drum-brake application.
Fuel and clutch service
Share only the confirmed component
The featured float valve and steel clutch plate also list other LT models. Use the GE year range and component specification instead of inferring complete assembly interchangeability.
Identify your ATV before orderingLT230GE identification checklist
Record the ATV’s identification and check for replacement assemblies before choosing service parts.
