About the Kawasaki VN1600 Vulcan
Vulcan 1600 clutch, fork and steering parts organized by complete model code.
The Vulcan 1600 family includes Classic, Mean Streak and Nomad versions with different chassis and riding positions. The VN1600 code and suffix are the practical starting point for replacement fork, steering, brake and control parts; the Vulcan name alone covers several configurations.
Keep the A, B and D applications separate
The individual clutch plate lists VN1600A 2003–2005. The 43 × 54 × 11 mm fork seals list VN1600B 2004–2005. The steering-bearing kit includes A 2003–2005, B 2004–2005 and D 2006. The table preserves those individual entries instead of presenting one family-wide year range.
Model and application differencesCompare your VN1600 repair options
| Model or repair | What to check |
|---|---|
| VN1600A clutch service | The featured plate lists 2003–2005 for A. It is sold individually; neither the family name nor a shared steering kit establishes its fitment on B or D. |
| VN1600B fork service | The featured fork-seal set lists B 2004–2005. Confirm the installed fork dimensions before applying a seal specification to a customized motorcycle. |
| Steering-bearing entries | The chosen kit has A 2003–2005, B 2004–2005 and D 2006 applications. Those entries do not create a single 2003–2006 range for every version. |
Frame, engine and component markingsKawasaki VN1600 Vulcan identification
Use the complete frame/model identification and the correct market documentation. Identify a replacement engine, carburetor or front end separately from the frame.
- Read all of the VN1600 model code and model year from the identification label.
- Identify the installed forks and measure old seals if the front end has been changed.
- For clutch work, record the plate type, position and the engine/clutch assembly being serviced.
A shared model prefix or similar appearance does not establish the model year or parts fitment.
