About the Kawasaki KX250

The KX250 name covers decades of Kawasaki motocross development. This guide focuses on classic two-stroke applications, including the liquid-cooled J and K series. Earlier KX250 fork parts and later two-stroke carburetor kits also appear here, so the parent page is a starting point for several generations.

KX250J, KX250K and KX250L parts by year

The J branch covers the 1992 J1 and 1993 J2. Featured K-model clutch, petcock and rotor applications run from 1994–1998; the corresponding L applications run from 1999–2002. Fork bushings have narrower coverage. Use the branch comparisons below to keep those differences visible while building a repair order.

1994–1998 KX250K petcock repair kit services the existing fuel tap. It is a repair kit, so assess the tap body and compare the included pieces with the repair needed.

1999–2002 KX250L front rotor is the front-brake application. A changed hub needs matching mounting dimensions and rotor offset.

Early KX250 fork seals

1976–1978 KX250 fork oil seals come as a set of two, specified 36 × 48 × 10.5. Oil seals retain fork oil; dust seals are separate.

Which parts fit a 1992 or 1993 Kawasaki KX250?

The 1992 KX250-J1 and 1993 KX250-J2 belong to the KX250J branch. Featured J applications include individual clutch plates, a separate clutch spring kit, petcock repair parts and a front brake rotor.

Are the classic KX250 parts here suitable for a KX250F?

Classic two-stroke KX250 coverage does not establish KX250F fitment. Use an explicit model-and-year application for the four-stroke motorcycle; the shared KX name is insufficient.

Are KX250 clutch plates sold as a complete pack?

The featured J/K/L clutch plate is sold individually. The clutch springs are a separate kit. Order the plate quantity required for the inspected clutch stack; neither product is a complete clutch assembly.
