About the Yamaha TT250
Engine gaskets, 36 mm fork seals and rear-brake service, with a separate TT250R oil-filter route.
The TT250 is part of Yamaha’s four-stroke off-road line. For an early TT250 restoration, engine sealing, fork condition and drum-brake wear are useful places to begin. Later TT250R service parts belong to a separate application, even when they appear in the same collection.
Early TT250 repairs and later TT250R oil service
The early engine gasket set, individual clutch plate and 36 × 48 × 10.5 mm fork seals list TT250 1980–1983. Rear shoes list 1980–1982. The oil-filter entry is for TT250R 1993–1997; use the R model and its year when following that route.
Model and application differencesCompare your TT250 repair options
| Model or repair | What to check |
|---|---|
| Early TT250 engine work | The 1980–1983 engine gasket set and individual clutch plate provide two different repair routes. Opening an engine cover does not automatically call for a complete engine gasket set. |
| Brakes and suspension | The featured fork seals list 1980–1983, but the rear shoes list 1980–1982. A matching fork application does not extend brake coverage. |
| TT250R oil service | The selected oil filter explicitly lists TT250R 1993–1997. Keep that suffix when ordering; it is not evidence that this filter suits the early TT250 engine. |
Frame, engine and component markingsYamaha TT250 identification
Use the complete frame/model identification and the correct market documentation. Identify a replacement engine, carburetor or front end separately from the frame.
- Copy the frame/model label and model year before choosing an early or later TT entry.
- For fork repairs, read the existing seal dimensions and identify any replacement fork assembly.
- For engine work, compare the gasket outline and the openings on the engine being repaired.
A shared model prefix or similar appearance does not establish the model year or parts fitment.
