About the Yamaha TT500
Engine gaskets, intake holders and oil seals for Yamaha’s TT500 big single.
The TT500 has a place in Yamaha’s big-single off-road history as the competition model used as the basis for the street-legal XT500. Yamaha’s own collection history makes that connection, but it does not establish parts interchange. For a TT500 restoration, compare the engine-sealing, intake and carburetor applications separately.
Build the engine-service list component by component
The featured Athena gasket set lists 1977–1981, the intake carburetor holder lists 1977–1978, the float needle and seat lists 1978, and the oil-seal kit lists 1980–1981. A single engine-service project can therefore involve several different application checks.

Gasket set versus oil-seal kit
A gasket set and an oil-seal kit contain different types of sealing parts. Check the contents for the joints and shafts involved in the planned engine work.
Intake and float-valve applications
The featured intake holder covers 1977–1978, while the float needle and seat lists 1978 only. Confirm the fitted carburetor and do not extend the narrower entry using the holder’s range.
Identify before orderingYamaha TT500 identification checklist
- Confirm the TT500 model year and engine identification.
- Record the carburetor model and compare intake-holder mounts and bore.
- List the covers, joints and shaft seals involved, then check each package’s contents.
