About the Honda VT500FT
Fork, engine and rear-brake service parts for the V-twin Ascot.
Honda’s VT500FT Ascot combined a V-twin and shaft final drive with a sporting road-bike layout. It shared its Ascot name with the separate FT500 single, making the full model designation the most useful first check when choosing repair parts.
Plan fork, brake and engine work as separate jobs
The featured fork oil seals, dust seals and rear brake shoes include 1983–84 FT applications. The engine gasket set has a narrower 1983-only entry. A 1984 engine reseal therefore needs a separately confirmed gasket application, even when the fork and brake items match that motorcycle.
Know your modelVT500FT model and parts differences
Use the application for the part being serviced, particularly when working on a 1984 Ascot.
1983 only
Engine gasket set
The featured set lists the FT for 1983. Confirm a separate application before choosing it for a 1984 engine.
1983–1984
Fork oil seals and dust seals
Oil and dust seals serve different functions. Compare each original part and the installed fork.
1983–1984
Rear drum-brake shoes
These shoes service the original rear drum. The front disc brake uses pads and requires its own part selection.
