About the Honda XR650

The XR650 name covers two distinct Honda singles. The XR650L is an air-cooled dual-sport motorcycle with electric starting. The XR650R arrived for 2000 with a liquid-cooled engine and an aluminum frame. Engine sealing, carburetor service and suspension parts therefore start with the complete model name.

Which XR650 parts collection do you need?

For the air-cooled L, use Honda XR650L parts for carburetor rebuild kits, 43 mm fork seals, rear pads and steel clutch plates. For the liquid-cooled R, use Honda XR650R parts for its separate carburetor kit, float and clutch components. The R’s original fork specification is 46 mm.

XR650R

Liquid-cooled off-road model

The R arrived for 2000 with a liquid-cooled engine, aluminum frame and 46 mm conventional fork. Its linked carburetor kit lists 2000–2006. The L-model 43 mm fork-seal recommendation does not transfer to the R.
