About the Kawasaki KZ650
From the early B four to the SR and CSR, the model suffix shapes the repair list.
The original Kawasaki KZ650 brought a 652cc air-cooled DOHC four-cylinder engine and five-speed gearbox to the middleweight range. The B1 used four Mikuni VM24SS carburetors. Later Custom, SR, LTD and CSR versions gave owners different chassis equipment and riding positions, so a 650 restoration starts with identifying the version on the bench.

Compare KZ650B and KZ650C applications individually. The C1 factory manual specifies hydraulic discs at both ends.

A distinct SR chassis
