About the Suzuki RM80
Engine gasket and clutch choices for the correct RM80 generation.
Suzuki developed the RM80 through air-cooled and liquid-cooled generations and later front-disc equipment. The RM80L added a larger-wheel chassis option. Record the complete model and engine identity before ordering, particularly for a competition bike with replacement suspension or an engine swap.
Separate the gasket and clutch year groups
The gasket sets divide into 1989–1990 and 1991–2001 applications. Clutch plates follow a different pattern: one listing covers 1986–1988, while another covers 1980–1981, 1984–1985 and 1989–2001. The latter is not a continuous 1980–2001 range.
Know your model before choosing partsSuzuki RM80 repair checkpoints
Use the complete model, year and fitted assembly. Each product has its own application and package contents.
1989–1990 engine gaskets
The earlier featured set lists these two years. Compare the actual contents with the engine being opened.
1991–2001 engine gaskets
The later set starts at 1991. Its coverage does not confirm the 1989–1990 engine.
RM80L and RM85
Suzuki identifies the RM80L with larger wheels and longer chassis components, and the later RM85 as a larger-bore model. Do not assign either variant from RM80-only coverage.
Identify your model before orderingSuzuki RM80 identification checklist
Use the identification on your machine and the component being repaired.
- Record the full model and year, then identify the engine independently if it has been changed.
- For clutch work, compare the original plate type and preserve gaps in the listed years.
- For chassis repairs, identify standard or large-wheel equipment and the fitted brake assembly.
