About the Suzuki VS700
Fork, cooling-system and engine-service parts for Suzuki’s VS700 Intruder.
The VS700 Intruder used a 699 cc, 45-degree V-twin with liquid cooling despite the visible cylinder fins. It also used different carburetor layouts for the two cylinders: front downdraft and rear sidedraft. Cooling-system and carburetor identification are therefore useful starting points when assessing a project.
Three repairs, three distinct year ranges
The fork seals below list 1985–87, the water-pump mechanical seal lists 1986–87, and the oil-filter example lists 1986. These ranges belong to the individual parts. For air-filter, brake and exhaust work, the GL collection provides separate applications using the complete VS700GL label.
Model and year comparisonVS700 parts differences
| Component | Featured application | Check before ordering |

| Water-pump mechanical seal | VS700 1986–87 | The specific pump component; not a complete pump kit. |
| Oil filter | VS700 1986 | The featured filter does not establish other years. |
| GL-specific service parts | Separate VS700GL listings | Confirm the complete model suffix and exact year. |

Identify the cooling-system component
Locate the part being replaced and compare the mechanical seal with the water-pump listing. A mechanical seal, cover gasket and complete pump assembly are distinct items with different contents.
Check the fork and carburetor identity
Measure the installed fork and compare the seal markings. For fuel-system work, record each carburetor’s markings and cylinder position; front and rear carburetors should not be treated as identical.
