About the Honda CM91
Use the CM91’s markings and fitted ignition equipment to guide a careful restoration.
A CM91 restoration can call for several small service parts with very different jobs. Contact points belong to the ignition assembly, an exhaust gasket seals the exhaust joint, and a cap rubber matches the tank cap. The CM91 identity should stay intact when comparing them with other Honda models.
Match the Denso ignition points before using the year range
Identify the contact-point design, mounting and connection before ordering. The Denso set has CM91 1966–1969 coverage, while the other repair examples below identify 1966. At a bushing or gasket location, compare the removed part and mounting details rather than transferring the ignition range to another component.

Use the model, year and fitted component together when comparing these applications.
Ignition
Match the Denso contact design
Compare the mounting, contact arrangement and lead connection. A year match alone cannot identify a different replacement ignition assembly.
Sealing pieces
1966 exhaust and tank-cap examples
Match the exhaust joint and the cap’s sealing groove individually. Replacement caps and exhausts may need different parts.
Bushing replacement
Identify the exact mounting position
Compare the old bushing, sleeve and mounting dimensions. A generic bushing title does not identify every suspension or frame location.
Identify your motorcycle before orderingCM91 identification checklist
- Frame and model
- Record the complete stamped model and frame/VIN characters.
- Engine and fitted assembly
- Record engine markings separately, then compare the component being repaired.
- Assembly comparison
- Compare the fitted assemblies with the correct model-year parts diagram or service manual, especially when an engine, carburetor, wheel or front end has been replaced.
