About the Honda CRF250
Find the right starting point for CRF250R, CRF250X and CRF250L maintenance.
Honda’s CRF250 family includes several distinct model lines. The competition-focused R gained programmed fuel injection for 2010, while Honda describes the X as an electric-start off-road motorcycle. Parts for L models are also included here. Start with the full designation so your repair order follows the right motorcycle and generation.
R, X and L service parts at a glance
For R-model fork service, the oil seals below list CRF250R 2004–2009. The X clutch-plate example lists 2004–2005. Front master-cylinder repair uses separate kits: the X example covers 2004–2009 and the L example covers 2013–2015. Identify your motorcycle before orderingCRF250 identification checklist
Use the motorcycle’s own markings. For an imported or modified bike, include the market and photos of the assembly being repaired.
- Model and market: Record the complete model designation and model year from the motorcycle label and matching documents.
- Frame and engine: Photograph the frame/VIN marking and engine number separately. A replacement engine needs its own identification.
- Fitted component: Note the R, X or L suffix, fitted fork and front master-cylinder markings, as relevant to the repair.
- Product match: Compare the exact model-year application, dimensions and package contents. Confirm any unlisted year or component mismatch before ordering.
