WR450F repairs: separate the fork generation and carburetor job
Compare the model, the repair location and the part’s own application before ordering.
The fork-seal range divides into WR450F 2003–2004 and 2005–2011 applications. The listed specifications differ, so choosing only by the WR450F name can produce the wrong seal. Record the actual fork assembly as well as the motorcycle year, especially after a front-end replacement.
The carburetor mid-body kit and intake holder address different locations. The kit services the carburetor body joint; the holder connects the carburetor at the engine intake. Yamaha’s 2012 WR450F announcement specifies fuel injection, so these carburetor applications should not be carried over to that model without separate evidence.

- Identify the fork and read the full marking on the removed oil seal; retain all height/profile information when comparing it.
- Identify whether the carburetor repair concerns the body joint or the separate intake holder before choosing parts.
- Record the fitted carburetor and the model year. Keep the intake-holder gap at 2010 and the mid-body kit’s 2009 end year visible.
