About the Honda CB1300
Use the CB1300 generation and full model label to separate ignition and routine service applications.
Honda substantially revised the CB1300 Super Four for 2003, adding PGM-FI fuel injection and revised ignition control. The catalog uses CB1300, CB1300F and CB1300S labels for different applications. An oil filter with a longer range does not establish that an ignition coil or mounting rubber fits every version in that range.
Match the ignition coil and radiator mounting point
For ignition work, record the coil markings, connectors and mounting, then use the wiring diagram and specified checks for the exact motorcycle. A starting or spark fault alone does not identify a failed coil. For radiator work, inspect the rubber cushion, sleeve and bracket at the mounting point; mounting rubber supports the radiator and does not seal coolant.

Use the model, year and fitted component together when comparing these applications.
Ignition coil
CB1300F 2003; CB1300S 2005
These are the selected coil’s named applications. Match its mounting and electrical specifications rather than using a broad CB1300 year range.
Oil filter
CB1300 2003–2013
The filter has its own CB1300 application. Confirm the engine and filter interface; its coverage does not extend the coil entry.
Radiator mounting
Rubber support, not a coolant seal
The mounting rubber isolates the radiator at its mounting point. Match the rubber, sleeve and bracket rather than selecting it for a leaking hose or pump.
Identify your motorcycle before orderingCB1300 identification checklist
- Frame and model
- Record the complete stamped model and frame/VIN characters.
- Engine and fitted assembly
- Record engine markings separately, then compare the component being repaired.
- Assembly comparison
- Compare the fitted assemblies with the correct model-year parts diagram or service manual, especially when an engine, carburetor, wheel or front end has been replaced.
