About the Kawasaki ZX1000
Find the parts for your ZX1000 generation, from the Ninja 1000R to the original ZX-10 and later models.
Kawasaki identifies the 1986 ZX1000-A1 as the Ninja 1000R. Its later ZX1000B service manual covers the 1988–1990 Ninja ZX-10. Those names help identify the early motorcycles, but they do not make A, B and later ZX1000 applications interchangeable.
ZX1000A and ZX1000B carburetor, fork and clutch parts
This parent collection also contains parts with later ZX1000 applications, including C, D and E codes. For the early motorcycles, the A carburetor kit covers 1986–1987 and the B kit covers 1988–1990. Their fork oil-seal listings differ too: 40 mm inside diameter for the A example and 41 mm for the B example. Match the complete code and the fitted assembly before comparing repair options.

Identify your motorcycle before orderingZX1000 identification checklist
Compare the motorcycle’s identification markings and model-year documents with the components actually fitted.
| Check | What to confirm |
|---|---|
| Model code | Keep the letter after ZX1000, plus the complete model-year designation from the identification label. |
| Carburetors | Compare carburetor body markings, gasket outline and the kit contents; keep early and later assemblies separate. |
| Fork equipment | Read the old oil-seal markings and measure the fitted fork. Do not choose between A and B seals by appearance alone. |
| Clutch hydraulics | Identify the handlebar master cylinder and engine-side slave cylinder as separate service assemblies. |
