Air-cooled CR125M Elsinore restoration
The CR125M Elsinore is Honda’s early air-cooled, two-stroke 125-class motocross model. Honda’s 1976 brochure specifies a six-speed transmission and drum brakes. For restoration parts, record the model year and identify the tank, forks, levers and perches actually fitted.
Decals, fork seals and clutch cables have different coverage
The Elsinore decal set lists 1974–1975. The fork oil seals and clutch cable list 1976–1978, while the dust seals list 1976. Use those separate applications when planning the restoration, and compare cable routing or seal dimensions if the handlebars or forks have changed.

- Model year: Use identification and model-year records rather than paint or registration date alone.
- Fork dimensions: Measure seal inside diameter, outside diameter and height; inspect the fitted fork for swaps.
- Lever and cable fittings: Compare perch style, pivot, cable ends, adjusters and cable routing.
- Restoration graphics: Compare shape, colour and panel position before applying adhesive decals.
