Read the Full Yamaha Model Code Before Ordering
A family name is only the starting point. Yamaha used suffixes, trim codes and related names to identify motorcycles that can require different parts. XS applications span several engine sizes and generations. XJ models vary by displacement, market and year; XV Virago applications cover multiple V-twin sizes; XT motorcycles include distinct trail and dual-sport models; and FZR or YZ parts should be matched to the complete model code.
Check the exact model, year range, mounting details and included quantity on the product page. When a confirmed Yamaha OEM number is available, use it as an additional cross-check rather than the only evidence of fitment. This matters most with parts that look alike in photographs but differ in dimensions, connector style, jetting, thread size or mounting position.
