About the Yamaha QT50 Yamahopper

Yamaha's own history identifies the QT50 as the export version of the Carrot introduced in Japan in 1979. It used a 49cc single-cylinder engine, single-speed automatic transmission and shaft drive. Yamaha's U.S. parts catalog also uses the Yamahopper name on later QT50 entries. These names help identify the model, but market and model-year suffixes still matter when choosing parts.

PartsNMore's current QT50 tags span 1979–1987 across the collection, but the two products cover different subsets. The carburetor float needle is tagged for 1979–1985, while the front brake shoes are tagged for 1979–1987. The union of those years should not be applied automatically to every product.

Choose QT50 Parts by Exact Application

Match the product-specific year list, OEM reference, measurements, mounting location and installed component before ordering. For the float needle, compare the carburetor and seat interface with Yamaha reference 3L5-14190-01 where applicable. For the brake shoes, compare the drum position, shoe dimensions, springs and Yamaha reference 27V-W2535-00.

Multi-model applications with PW50, DT50, YSR80 or other Yamaha machines are SKU-level fitment only. PartsNMore has supplied motorcycle parts since 2002. Free shipping is available to the USA and Canada on orders over $50.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is a Yamaha QT50 the same as a Yamahopper?
Yamaha's official U.S. parts catalog uses the Yamahopper name on later QT50 model-year entries. Still confirm the exact QT50 year and suffix because names alone do not establish part fitment.
Do all parts in this collection fit every 1979–1987 QT50?
No. 1979–1987 is the union of current catalog tags. The float needle is tagged 1979–1985, while the front brake shoes are tagged 1979–1987. Use each product's fitment list.
Can I use a PW50 or DT50 part on my QT50?
Only when that exact product lists your QT50 year and its OEM reference, measurements and installed component agree. Cross-fit on one product does not generalize to other parts.
What should I compare before ordering QT50 parts?
Check the model year and suffix, OEM reference, dimensions, mounting position and details of the installed carburetor or brake assembly. Compare the old part when possible.
