Yamaha TT Models Are Purpose-Built Off-Road Families
Yamaha’s TT name covers several generations and displacements of off-road and enduro motorcycles rather than one interchangeable platform. Yamaha developed the TT500 for the U.S. enduro market and then based the street-legal XT500 dual-purpose model on it. That relationship explains some shared engineering history, but it does not mean complete TT500 and XT500 parts interchange: road equipment, lighting, electrical components, controls, chassis details and year-specific hardware may differ.
The same caution applies to later machines. Yamaha developed the TT600 enduro alongside the XT600 Ténéré rather than as an identical model. Yamaha’s product archive separately records the TT250 in 1981 and the TT350 and TT225 for the 1986 model era. PartsNMore’s current TT inventory is strongest for TT500 and TT600, followed by TT350, TT225 and TT250, with limited TT125 coverage. Each displacement should be treated as its own model family.
