About the Honda GL1100A Aspencade
The GL1100 Aspencade starts in 1982—and the two model years still need separate checks.
Honda added the Aspencade to the GL1100 Gold Wing family in 1982 as a more extensively equipped touring model. It belongs to the liquid-cooled flat-four GL1100 generation and carries the A designation in parts applications.
Keep the Aspencade year range precise
The featured carburetor kit and fork oil seals explicitly list GL1100A 1982–1983. The selected front master-cylinder repair kit lists 1982 only. A broad GL1100 description must not turn a 1982 brake application into coverage for a 1983 Aspencade.
Know your motorcycle before orderingHonda GL1100A Aspencade model and year differences
The two GL1100 Aspencade years share some listed service parts, while other products have a single-year application.
1982–1983 applications
Carburetor and fork service
Kit 48-1405 and oil-seal set 27-1029 both explicitly list these GL1100A years.
Parts checkpoint: Check kit contents and the carburetor or fork assembly actually fitted.
1982 application only
Front master-cylinder repair
Kit 08-0209 lists GL1100A 1982.
Parts checkpoint: Use a separately confirmed application for 1983; do not infer fitment from the A badge alone.
Frame, engine and fitted componentsHonda GL1100A Aspencade identification checklist
Use the complete identifiers and the correct model-year documentation. Check the engine and chassis separately when parts have been exchanged.
- Model year: Confirm a GL1100A Aspencade and whether it is a 1982 or 1983 model using the complete frame/VIN and correct market documentation.
- Brake assembly: Identify the fitted front master cylinder and each caliper position before choosing repair parts.
- Carburetors and forks: Compare component identification, dimensions and service-kit contents with the assemblies installed.
- Generation and equipment: Keep GL1100 parts separate from GL1200 applications. Identify changed touring equipment independently of the original model designation.
