About the Honda GL500I Silver Wing Interstate
Brake, fork and engine service for Honda’s equipped Silver Wing tourer.
The GL500I Interstate added factory touring bodywork and luggage to the Silver Wing. Its twin front discs are an important distinction from the standard model’s single-disc arrangement. On a motorcycle that has lost its fairing or gained replacement controls, inspect the fitted equipment before choosing chassis parts.
Plan front brakes and fork seals separately
The front-pad and dust-seal products below specifically cover GL500I 1981–1982. Dust seal 27-1049 is sold individually. The carburetor kit, top-end gasket set, rear casing gasket and rear shoes also list the standard GL500 for those years.

Interstate after bodywork changes
Use the model record and fitted front brake equipment together. Replacement handlebars, master cylinders or calipers require their own part identification even when the frame remains GL500I.
Fork protection and engine joints
Identify dust seals separately from oil seals. For gasket work, note whether the repair opens the top end or the rear engine casing, then compare the set and single-gasket options.
