About the Honda VT750C Shadow
One C designation spans different Shadow generations; dated examples make the service choices clearer.
The C designation appears on the early Shadow, later A.C.E. models and the Shadow Aero. Honda’s 2004 Aero specifications identify shaft drive and a 41 mm fork. That later motorcycle belongs to a different service context from the 1983 carburetor example linked here. A shared C suffix does not make a carburetor, fuel valve or seal interchangeable across those years.
Separate the generation from the individual part range
The selected fork sets illustrate the difference: one includes a 1983 VT750C application with 39 mm inside-diameter seals; the other lists 1998–2003 with 41 mm inside-diameter seals. The later set’s listing stops at 2003, so a 41 mm fork specification on a 2004 Aero is not enough to extend fitment. For a longer suffix, use the matching model in the VT750 family guide.

1983 C example
Early carburetor and fork service
The selected early carb kit and 39 × 52 × 11 mm oil-seal pair include this application.
Parts checkpoint: Use the complete product listing for the fitted early-model assembly.
1998–2003 C examples
Later fuel and fork choices
The selected petcock lists 1998–2000; the 41 mm inside-diameter seal pair lists 1998–2003.
Parts checkpoint: The valve and seals have separate year coverage.
2004 Aero model context
A later shaft-drive Shadow
Honda’s 2004 Aero specification lists a 41 mm fork.
Parts checkpoint: Matching tube diameter does not establish an older seal set’s Aero fitment.
Identify your motorcycle before orderingVT750C model and identification checklist
These dated examples explain how to separate C-model applications. They do not assign one common parts range to every Shadow generation.
| Model or component | Year or identification | Check before ordering |
|---|---|---|
| Early C service | 1983 application example | Match the early carburetor and fork assemblies. |
| Fuel petcock | Selected listing: 1998–2000 | Identify the tank connection, valve layout and outlet direction. |
| Later fork-seal pair | Selected listing: 1998–2003 | Use full seal dimensions and the fitted fork identity. |
| Front reservoir diaphragm | Selected listing: 1998–2013 | Match the reservoir and cap; internal-cylinder kits are separate. |
