About the Honda XR250R
A carburetor overhaul, an engine reseal and a fork repair each need their own year check.
An XR250R parts order starts with the complete R-model designation, model year and the assembly being repaired. Keep engine and carburetor markings with those details, especially if a previous owner has changed the engine, fuel system or suspension.
Carburetor, gasket and chassis years differ
The currently featured in-stock XR250R carburetor kits cover 1986–1995 and 1996–2004. No in-stock 1984–1985 rebuild kit is currently featured; identify the fitted carburetor and confirm a current option instead of substituting a later kit. The linked top-end and complete engine gasket sets each list 1985–1995, rear brake pads list 1992–2004, and the early fork oil seals list 1981–1982. Use the range attached to the part you need; one repair’s coverage does not establish another’s.

Compare the current 1986–1995 and 1996–2004 kit listings with the carburetor fitted to the motorcycle. No in-stock 1984–1985 kit is currently featured; do not substitute a later kit without a confirmed application.

Different components, different ranges
The linked top-end gasket set covers XR250R 1985–1995, while the rear pads list 1992–2004. Neither range extends the application of the other part.
Identify your motorcycle before orderingIdentify the XR250R and its fitted equipment
- Record the XR250R frame/VIN marking and model year; do not substitute a plain XR250 or XR250L application.
- Read the engine and carburetor markings separately. Photograph the carburetor body when comparing rebuild kits.
- For brakes and suspension, identify the axle position and actual assembly. Check for replacement forks or calipers before ordering.
