About the Suzuki GS400E
Carburetor service parts, brake reservoir kits and control replacements for the GS400E.
Suzuki introduced the cast-wheel GS400E in 1978 and reused the GS400E name for a 1991 model. The 1980s service applications here should not be carried across to a later motorcycle simply because the badge matches.
GS400E carburetor parts and brake reservoir kits
The reservoir kit fits GS400E 1980–1983 and replaces the matching reservoir components. It is not an internal piston-and-seal rebuild kit or a complete master cylinder. The bowl gasket and needle-and-seat assembly cover 1980–1984; the ignition switch covers 1982–1983 and the tank cap covers 1982–1984. Each component needs its own match.

| Check | What to confirm |
|---|---|
| Model generation | Use the full model-year identity; an E badge alone does not confirm the 1980s applications. |
| Reservoir | Compare shape, mounting or screw spacing, cap and sealing pieces with the fitted master-cylinder reservoir. |
| Carburetor | Match bowl profile and needle/seat design separately; these parts perform different functions. |
| Tank and ignition | Compare the tank filler and electrical connector rather than extending one item’s years to the other. |
