About the Suzuki GS850G
Engine resealing, carburetor rebuilds and fork service for the shaft-drive GS850G.
The GS850G is the traditionally styled member of Suzuki’s shaft-drive GS850 range. Its conventional handlebars and touring layout distinguish it from the GL, but repair parts still need confirmation against the actual motorcycle and its individual model-year application.
Early and later GS850G engine gasket sets
The early engine gasket set covers GS850G 1979–1981 and the later set covers 1982–1985. The separate later valve-cover gasket in the family guide stops at 1983. A complete-set application does not extend a separately sold cover gasket. Likewise, the fork-seal example covers 1979–1983 and needs its own dimensional check.
