About the Suzuki GSF1200S
Carburetor, fork and hydraulic-service choices for the half-faired Bandit 1200.
The GSF1200S adds half-faired road-bike styling to Suzuki’s oil-cooled Bandit 1200 family. Its shared engine heritage does not make every naked-model carburetor, fork or brake application suitable for the S version.

A rebuild kit and slide diaphragm address different carburetor repairs and have different year ranges: 1997–2000 and 1997–2001 respectively. Fork seals list 1996–2005, front pads 1996–2000 and the clutch-master kit 1996–1997. Identify the assembly and compare its markings, dimensions and supplied service parts.

Frame, engine and component markingsSuzuki GSF1200S identification
Use the complete frame/model identification and the correct market documentation. Identify a replacement engine, carburetor or front end separately from the frame.
- Retain the S designation when reading the model label and product application.
- Identify carburetor replacements and compare the diaphragm lip and attachment.
- Check master-cylinder bore and piston design; compare forks by complete seal dimensions.
A shared model prefix or similar appearance does not establish the model year or parts fitment.
