A C70 Passport restoration can involve engine resealing, drum-brake service and individual clutch components. The Passport name is useful for identifying the bike, but the repair still turns on its year and fitted engine or hubs. In this collection, the clearest engine-parts distinction is between gasket sets ending at 1981 and starting at 1982.

A 1981 and a 1982 C70 need different gasket-set checks

The early engine gasket set lists C70 1970–1981; the later set lists 1982–1993. For a Passport, use its own year and engine identity rather than treating that longer catalog range as a production history. Front and rear shoes have separate applications, and the clutch plates below preserve the stated gaps in their year coverage.
