About the Honda CL125
The CL125 name covers two different engine layouts: choose the A twin or S single first.
CL125A and CL125S are different engine families
Honda’s CL125A owner’s manual describes an OHC twin with a single carburetor. The CL125S1 crankshaft fiche shows the later single-piston engine. Carburetor count alone is therefore a poor shortcut for telling the two bikes apart: read the frame and engine markings and identify the cylinder layout.
Choose the engine branch before the repair
The A-model float here lists CL125A 1968; the S-model rebuild kit and overhaul gasket set list CL125S 1973–1974. The linked cap and fuel tap happen to list both branches for those years. Shared tank fittings do not establish shared engine or carburetor internals.

Identify your motorcycle before orderingCL125 identification checklist
Record the exact CL125A or CL125S frame designation, year, market and engine number. Photograph the carburetor identification and the old part. For a replacement tank, record the cap opening and fuel-tap mounting details separately.
- Keep the complete model designation and year with your parts list.
- Record frame and engine markings separately. A replacement engine needs its own parts comparison.
- Compare the component fitted to the motorcycle, the product application and the package contents.
