About the Honda CRF150

Two different motorcycles: choose the F trail bike or R motocross bike.

Honda Motorcycle Logo

The CRF150F is an air-cooled trail bike; the CRF150R is a liquid-cooled motocross bike. Their shared CRF150 name does not make engine, carburetor or chassis parts interchangeable. This family page gives both owners a direct route into the catalog, with F and R repair examples below.

Model first, then generation

For the F, the 2006 engine change and introduction of electric starting make the model year especially useful. For the R, record whether the motorcycle is the standard or Expert version when researching chassis parts. The Expert’s larger wheels do not establish shared fitment for every component.

Fuel-tap, early clutch and fork service options are grouped in the F guide, including the split between early and revised engines.

The R selection includes carburetor mid-body service, front master-cylinder repair and other R-specific applications.

Details that identify the applicationHonda CRF150 identification checklist

Complete model

Record CRF150F or CRF150R and the model year from the frame/VIN identification and supporting documentation.

Engine or chassis version

For an F, record the engine generation. For an R chassis repair, record standard or Expert and the fitted wheel or suspension details.

Assembly markings

Carburetor markings, master-cylinder design and fork dimensions help identify parts on a motorcycle with replacement components.

Honda CRF150 parts questions

Are Honda CRF150F and CRF150R parts interchangeable?
Do not assume they are. The F is an air-cooled trail bike and the R is a liquid-cooled motocross bike. A shared part must explicitly list your complete model and year.
Where can I find CRF150R repair parts?
Use the CRF150R model link above. This guide also links a carburetor mid-body rebuild kit and front master-cylinder repair kit, each with a listed CRF150R 2007–2009 application.
Why does the year matter when ordering CRF150F engine parts?
Honda changed the CRF150F engine and introduced electric starting for 2006. The early friction plate linked here lists 2003–2005; its application should not be extended to the revised engine.
Does a CRF150R listing automatically cover the Expert version?
Do not infer Expert chassis fitment from the CRF150R family name alone. The Expert has larger wheels. Use the product’s stated application and the fitted component details for wheel, brake and suspension work.
