About the Honda CT110 Trail 110

Keep a Trail 110 working with parts matched to its year and market.

Honda Motorcycle Logo

The North American Trail 110 arrived in 1980 with a 105 cc OHC single, four speeds and an automatic centrifugal clutch. The auxiliary transmission was added for 1981; CDI ignition followed for 1982. These early changes make the model year useful when planning a CT110 repair.

Use the carburetor details as well as the Trail 110 name

Start a fuel-system order with the carburetor body marking, float and valve arrangement. The float needle below has a gap in its listed CT110 years, while the float-and-pin product uses additional model letters. Keep these details separate from the broader year ranges on the front brake shoes and clutch plate.

Know your motorcycle before choosing partsCT110 Trail 110 repair checkpoints

Use these reference points to choose the model and assembly for your repair.

1980 North America

Before the auxiliary gearbox

The first Trail 110 lacked the later secondary transmission.

Parts checkpoint: Identify the installed engine and gearbox.

1981 North America

Auxiliary transmission added

This change does not apply automatically to other markets.

Parts checkpoint: Keep the original market in the identification record.

1982 North America

CDI ignition introduced

Earlier North American models used points ignition.

Parts checkpoint: Identify the fitted ignition before choosing electrical parts.

Identify your motorcycle before orderingCT110 Trail 110 identification checklist

Keep the bike’s identity and the details of the assembly being repaired together.

  • Copy the frame/VIN, engine marking, year and market information.
  • For fuel-level work, photograph the carburetor marking, float and hinge arrangement.
  • For brakes, identify the front drum and compare shoe shape and dimensions.

Honda CT110 parts questions

Do all Honda CT110s have the auxiliary transmission?
No. It was added to the North American Trail 110 for 1981; the 1980 model lacked it. Honda’s 1981 Japanese-market CT110 also lacked the auxiliary transmission. Check the market and the engine installed on the bike.
Which early CT110s use points ignition or CDI?
Honda records the North American change from points to CDI for the 1982 model. Check the ignition actually fitted before choosing electrical parts, particularly on an import or a bike with a replacement engine.
How do I choose between a CT110 float needle and a float-and-pin assembly?
Identify the component required in your carburetor before ordering. The needle listing names CT110 1980–1983 and 1986; it does not establish 1984–1985 fitment. The float-and-pin listing names CT110A, CT110AC and CT110AW applications with separate years.
What should I check when ordering CT110 front brake shoes?
The linked shoes list front brake applications for CT110 1980–1986. Identify the installed front hub, compare shoe shape and dimensions, and check package quantity. A front application does not establish a match for a different brake assembly.
