About the Honda MT125 Elsinore
Two focused restoration jobs: the steering head and the fuel-tap selector seal.
For a 1974–1976 MT125 Elsinore project, the verified steering-bearing kit and petcock gasket provide two concrete repair starting points. Identify the front end and fuel tap before dismantling: a donor steering stem or aftermarket tap can change the service parts required. The Honda MT family collection provides the route to another MT model.
Locate the fuel leak before selecting a gasket
The petcock gasket replaces reference 16957-ZE1-812. Compare its fuel-port holes and sealing faces with the tap being repaired. A leak at the tank mounting, a hose connection or the carburetor overflow is a different location and needs its own diagnosis. For steering work, compare bearing seats and races rather than ordering wheel bearings for the headstock.
Know your motorcycle before choosing partsMT125 repair checkpoints
Compare the model, year and component below. Each product keeps its own application and package details.
MT125, 1974–1976
Steering-head bearing kit
Check the steering stem, upper and lower bearing seats, race style and supplied seals. Record a donor front end separately from the frame year.
MT125, 1974–1976
Petcock gasket: 16957-ZE1-812
Match the gasket diameter, port holes and sealing surfaces. Inspect the tap body so that a new gasket is selected for the correct joint.
MT125R or a replacement assembly
Keep the complete identity
The two featured MT125 applications do not confirm MT125R fitment. Replacement fuel taps, engines and steering stems must be matched to their own components.
Electrical restoration
Identify the installed system
Record component function, voltage and connectors before comparing electrical parts. A separate rectifier and a combined regulator/rectifier perform different roles; altered wiring needs its own checks.
Identify your motorcycle before orderingMT125 frame, engine and component checks
- Record MT125 or MT125R exactly as documented; do not remove the suffix to make a product appear to match.
- Photograph the fuel tap and gasket shape before ordering sealing pieces.
- Compare the steering stem, bearing seats and races when servicing the headstock.
- Identify the charging component’s actual function, voltage and connectors before choosing electrical replacements.
