About the Honda SL125
Engine and fuel-system service parts for a 1971–1973 SL125 restoration.
An SL125 restoration often combines engine resealing with attention to a carburetor that has spent time in storage. Make a list of the engine joints being opened and inspect the carburetor separately. The gasket set, float needle and seat, and float shown below all list SL125 1971–1973.
Check fuel-level control before ordering
The float operates the inlet needle valve to control fuel entering the bowl. A damaged float, worn needle or leaking bowl joint can require different service pieces. Locate the leak and identify the fitted carburetor before choosing replacement parts.

Engine joints
The overhaul gasket set records SL125 1971–1973. Compare its actual contents with the joints you will open; do not assume every oil seal or small O-ring is supplied.
Float and needle are different parts
The float operates the fuel valve. A damaged float and a worn needle/seat require separate inspection even when both products list the same years.
Changed carburetors
An SL125 frame does not identify an aftermarket or donor carburetor. Use the markings and parts fitted to that carburetor when comparing repair pieces.
