About the Honda TL250
Fuel-level control and consistent clutch action matter on a vintage Honda trials bike.
Honda introduced the TL250 in 1975 as the larger model in its Bials trials range. It belongs to Honda’s early trials program, rather than being simply another capacity in the XL trail-bike line. On a surviving competition machine, identifying replacement carburetors, controls and suspension can be just as important as reading the original model badge.
Separate the float from the inlet valve
The carburetor float and the float needle-and-seat assembly perform related but distinct jobs. The float moves with the fuel level; the inlet valve meters incoming fuel as the float moves. Both TL250 products below list 1975–1976. Inspect them together when investigating fuel-level problems, then select the damaged component rather than treating a float as a complete carburetor rebuild.

The linked float and needle-and-seat assembly both name these TL250 years. They are separate components, so inspect the float and fuel valve independently.
Clutch-stack condition
The linked TL250 steel plate is sold individually. Inspect plain and friction plates and check the operating adjustment when planning clutch service.
Forks and trials modifications
The linked oil seals measure 33 × 46 × 11 mm. Confirm the fork fitted to the machine before using the original-model seal application.
