About the Honda VF1000R

Keep the R engine and fitted carburetors identified

The VF1000R’s liquid-cooled V4 uses gear-driven camshafts. Record the full R code, market and installed engine when choosing service parts. The carb kit lists 1985–1986, but the newly compared individual bowl gasket lists R 1985 only. A shared family name does not extend either product’s range.

Separate cooling indication from fan control

The temperature sender, 37750-PC1-004 and fan switch, 37760-MR1-003 both list VF1000R 1985–1986. They are separate individual components with different circuit roles. Identify the part and compare connector, mounting thread and reference before selecting the repair.

Honda VF1000R parts questions

Does the separate VF1000R bowl gasket include 1986?
The individual bowl gasket lists VF1000R 1985 only. The separate R carburetor kit lists 1985–1986, but that does not extend the gasket listing. Match the fitted bowl and obtain a confirmed 1986 gasket application.
Which VF1000R cooling part is the temperature sender?
Reference 37750-PC1-004 identifies the temperature-indication sender; 37760-MR1-003 identifies the separate fan-control switch. Both products list R 1985–1986 and are individual items. Match the original component, circuit, connector and mounting.
Can I order both VF1000R fork seal types for 1986 here?
The two-piece 41 × 54 × 11 mm oil-seal set includes R 1985–1986. The individual dust-seal listing includes R 1984–1985 only, so a 1986 dust seal needs separate confirmation. A matching oil-seal range does not establish dust-seal fitment.
How are the VF1000R clutch plates supplied?
