About the Honda VT500
Choose Shadow or V-twin Ascot, then find the service parts for your motorcycle.
Honda’s early-1980s VT500 family combined a liquid-cooled V-twin and shaft drive with two different road-bike identities. The VT500C Shadow and VT500FT Ascot share basic family features, but their fork and engine-service applications need separate checks.
Use the model pages to build a focused repair order
The Shadow guide separates early dust-seal coverage from later fork oil seals. The Ascot guide covers its fork and rear-brake examples and the important 1983-only entry on the featured engine gasket set. Choose C or FT first so a broader family result does not obscure the correct application.
