About the Honda XR80
Start with early XR80 parts, or move into the later XR80R range.
This family collection helps you separate an early XR80 repair from a later XR80R application. For a 1979–1984 XR80, the clutch plate and engine gasket set below provide two places to start an engine-service order. The linked clutch plate also lists XR80R 1985–2003, but a shared plate does not make the rest of the two bikes’ parts interchangeable.
Early engine work or later trail-bike service?
For an early XR80 engine repair, record the engine markings and the covers or joints being opened before choosing a gasket set. For XR80R carburetor service, move to the R-model collection and check its separate 1985–1986 and 1987–1999 kit applications. Air filters and brake parts also need the R designation where stated; the family page is a starting point, not a fitment substitute.

Early XR80 engine service
1979–1984 examples
Clutch plate 39-1094d and gasket set 18-0308 include early XR80 applications. The gasket listing uses XR80, so do not treat it as confirmation for an XR80R engine.
Shared clutch plate
Two explicitly named applications
The individual clutch plate lists XR80 1979–1984 and XR80R 1985–2003. Check the required quantity and the rest of the clutch pack.
Later XR80R repairs
Use the R-model year boundaries
Carburetor kits split at 1987 in the examples below. The R-model engine gasket set starts at 1993, and unlisted years need a separate match.
