About the Kawasaki KE100
The A or B designation is the first useful split in a KE100 parts search.
Kawasaki’s 1982 parts reference identifies the KE100-B1 and separates its carburetor assemblies by later model codes and markets. That makes the full designation more useful than the KE100 family name alone. Current replacement examples retain different A- and B-model year ranges for carburetor, gasket and clutch service.
Start the carburetor order with the complete A or B application
The featured carb kit lists KE100A 1976–1979 and KE100B 1986–1997. Years between those ranges need separate support, even when the gasket set or clutch parts cover them. Record the carburetor markings and full motorcycle designation, including market details where known. Compare the actual kit contents with the worn parts before deciding what else the overhaul needs.

Use the model, year and fitted component together when comparing these applications.
Carburetor
A: 1976–1979; B: 1986–1997
These are the selected rebuild kit’s two application ranges. The intervening model years need their own supported repair parts.
Engine gaskets
A: 1976–1981; B: 1982–1995
Compare gasket contents with the engine being opened. A broader clutch range does not add later gasket coverage.
Clutch stack
A: 1976–1981; B: 1982–2001
Steel separators and friction components remain distinct. Match the plate type, dimensions and quantity required.
