About the Kawasaki KXT250
Fork-seal and control choices for the Tecate three-wheeler.
The KXT250 Tecate is Kawasaki’s sporting three-wheeler. Its KXT model identity must be kept separate from KX motorcycles and the KXF250 Tecate-4 when selecting suspension and control parts.
The fitted forks determine the seal choice
The 1984–1985 fork-seal listing is 36 × 48 × 10.5 mm; the separate 1986 option lists 41 × 53 mm diameters. Compare the full height and profile as well as the diameters, particularly on a Tecate with a replacement front end. Brake pads list 1985–1986 and the clutch lever lists 1984–1986.

Frame, engine and component markingsKawasaki KXT250 identification
Use the complete frame/model identification and the correct market documentation. Identify a replacement engine, carburetor or front end separately from the frame.
- Use the KXT250 code, not a Tecate nickname alone.
- Measure the fork tube and removed oil seal, especially after a front-end conversion.
- Compare the pad shape and retaining hardware, and the clutch lever’s pivot and cable interface.
A shared model prefix or similar appearance does not establish the model year or parts fitment.
