About the Kawasaki KZ
Choose the complete KZ model before building your restoration parts list.
Kawasaki KZ parts span a wide range of engines and chassis, from the KZ200 and KZ250 to the KZ900, KZ1000 and KZ1300. Use the model links above to narrow a restoration search, then retain the letters after the displacement. The complete model identifies a much more useful starting point than engine size alone.
Turn a family search into a repair order
Plan the order around the assembly being repaired. For a carburetor overhaul, compare the carburetor markings and kit contents; for an engine leak, identify the joint before choosing a gasket set. Brake work also starts with the axle and drum or disc layout. The examples below keep these different KZ applications separate.

Use the complete model, year and fitted assembly. Each product has its own application and package contents.
KZ900A and KZ1000 carburetors
The featured kit lists KZ900A 1976–1977; KZ1000A and B 1977–1978; and KZ1000D 1978. Other KZ1000 suffixes need their own application check.
KZ305 engine sealing
The linked gasket set lists KZ305A, B, C and D for 1981–1982. Its EX305 applications do not establish interchange with other KZ engines.
Brake layout and axle position
Identify a drum or disc and its location before choosing friction parts. The featured rear shoes list KZ900 1976–1977; that range is specific to those shoes.
