About the Suzuki GS1100
From the E sport model and S Katana to the G shaft-drive range: identify your GS1100, then choose parts for the job.
Suzuki used the GS1100 name across sport, cruiser and touring motorcycles. The early sport range used four valves per cylinder, while the GS1100G family combined an air-cooled four-cylinder engine with shaft final drive. Katana bodywork, cruiser controls and GK touring equipment add further differences that matter when restoring an older bike.
Which GS1100 parts are shared?
Some components serve several models, but the year and suffix must appear together in the part’s application. Engine gasket sets separate G/GL/GK from later E/ES/S applications. The GS1100E also uses different early and later valve-cover gaskets. Use the comparisons below to narrow the repair before adding parts to your order.

Sport models
GS1100E and GS1100ES
The E valve-cover gaskets split at 1982. The ES page distinguishes its 1983 engine and caliper parts from separate 1984 service parts.
Parts checkpoint: Compare E 1980–81 and 1982–83 valve-cover gaskets. Keep each ES part’s year explicit.

GS1100S
The US-market GS1100S is the 1983 1100 Katana. The earlier US GS1000S and other market designations need separate identification.
Parts checkpoint: The engine gasket set includes GS1100S 1982–83; the featured fork seals and front pads specify 1983.

GS1100G, GS1100GL and GS1100GK
The standard G, cruiser-style GL and GK tourer share selected engine parts. Suzuki documents GL and GK differences in separate service supplements.
Parts checkpoint: The engine gasket set specifies G/GL 1982–83 and GK 1982–84. Shared engine coverage does not confirm chassis parts.

GS1100LT
The 1980 GS1100LT uses its own carburetor, valve-cover and fork-seal applications, separate from the later GL.
Parts checkpoint: Use the complete LT code for the carb kit, valve-cover gasket and fork seals shown on that page.

Use these details to match your motorcycle and any replacement assemblies before ordering.
- Read the frame/VIN and full model designation before selecting a suffix page.
- Record the model year and market from the motorcycle’s documents and matching Suzuki manual.
- Confirm engine identity and whether the motorcycle has chain or shaft final drive.
- Photograph carburetor markings, fork legs and brake castings if their origin is uncertain.
- Match each product’s exact model/year entry, dimensions and package description to the repair.
