About the Suzuki GT750

Engine, fork, ignition and brake service for Suzuki’s Water Buffalo triple.

Suzuki Motorcycle Logo

The Suzuki GT750, known in the United States as the Water Buffalo, uses a liquid-cooled three-cylinder two-stroke engine. A restoration parts list should distinguish engine gaskets, rotating-shaft seals and ignition components so each opened or worn assembly receives the appropriate service parts.

Keep brake and ignition equipment in the application check

The gasket set, fork seals and ignition condenser linked below list GT750 1972–1977. Front brake pads start at 1973. Identify the actual front brake and any ignition conversion; for carburetor work, record the carburetor markings before choosing internal fuel-system parts.

Know your model before choosing partsSuzuki GT750 repair checkpoints

Use the complete model, year and fitted assembly. Each product has its own application and package contents.

1972 engine and fork service

The linked gasket and fork-seal listings include 1972. The featured front pads do not.

1973–1977 front pads

The linked pad application starts at 1973. Compare the fitted caliper and pad profile instead of extending the range to an earlier motorcycle.

Carburetor identity

Read the markings on the actual carburetors. Model year and a broad kit listing do not establish every jet, needle or seal required.

Identify your model before orderingSuzuki GT750 identification checklist

Use the identification on your machine and the component being repaired.

  1. Record GT750 and model year, and identify the engine if it has been replaced.
  2. Photograph carburetor markings and original internal parts before comparing repair kits.
  3. Identify front brake equipment and compare the original pad profile before ordering pads.

Suzuki GT750 parts questions

Do the featured GT750 front pads cover 1972?
The linked front brake pads list GT750 1973–1977. The wider 1972–1977 gasket and fork-seal applications do not confirm the pads for 1972. Identify the fitted front brake assembly.
Does the GT750 gasket set include all crankshaft and water-pump seals?
That is not established by the gasket-set title. Compare the actual contents with the engine and pump diagrams, and list separately any seals required for the repair.
Is a GT750 carburetor kit selected by year alone?
Use the year and the fitted carburetor identity. Compare carburetor markings, original components and kit contents, especially if the carburetors have been changed or a listing spans several years.
Is the GT750 condenser sold as a complete ignition set?
The condenser linked in this guide is sold individually and lists GT750 1972–1977. Confirm the number needed, lead style and mounting arrangement. If the motorcycle has an electronic ignition conversion, use that system’s component requirements instead.
