About the Suzuki GV1200 Madura
Keep the complete Madura model code with each brake, clutch and fuel-system repair.
Suzuki’s 1985 GV1200GLF Madura parts reference preserves more detail than the GV1200 family name alone. Current repair examples use the GV1200GL application label, mainly for 1985–1986. A GLF, GLF2 or GLG marking should be checked against the exact year and fitted assembly before treating a shared family name as a parts match.
Identify which hydraulic assembly needs service
At the handlebars, the clutch and front brake master cylinders serve separate circuits and use different repair kits. At the rear wheel, identify the caliper and pad shape before ordering rear pads. Check the condition of the fitted cylinder or caliper and compare the kit contents; seals alone do not correct a damaged bore or piston.

Model code
GV1200 family and GV1200GL
The family page helps locate the GL selection. Longer model markings require their own year and assembly check.
Hydraulic controls
Clutch kit versus front brake kit
Both selected kits list GV1200GL 1985–1986, but each services its named master cylinder.
Year limits
Fork and fuel parts can be narrower
Some catalog fork and float-valve entries identify 1985 only. Do not extend them using a wider brake or filter application.
